ABSTRACT
“Digital Transformation and its future in University Education and Research”
Digital Transformation (DX) has become a focal point in various industries, aiming to revolutionize services and businesses by integrating advanced digital technologies, encapsulated in the concept of “Society 5.0”—a hyper-connected, super-smart society. Higher education institutions are also embracing this trend. Generation Z students, being digital natives, demand seamless, personalized services that are accessible anytime and anywhere, in other word, “Learning 5.0”. Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic has compelled universities to significantly alter their traditional in-person lectures and research methodologies, adopting technological solutions to continue their operations. How will universities navigate this crisis and implement DX in higher education for the post-pandemic “New Normal”?
In this keynote speech, we will explore several practices in education, research, and daily operations at the university context. We will cover various approaches to Learning 5.0, the challenges of digital transformation in laboratories, the use of cloud virtual desktops for remote work, and the application of institutional research (IR) using educational and research data.
